We measure the third-party pages assistants actually read when someone asks for a recommendation, and record which vendors each page names. 107 vendors across 8 categories, from 64 sources. Free to read.
The pages that decide a category get written by somebody. Most of them are written by vendors competing in that category, which is a reasonable thing to do and also worth knowing when you read them. We would rather the underlying measurement were public, so a company can see its own number without paying anyone.
